Based on my work on Saga of the Jewels, I have been hired by an indie game developer to write the novel for their 'novel + turn-based battles' game on Steam. Of course, a 'novel + turn based battles' is a terrible idea for a game, which is why no other games like this exist, but hey, the developer is paying me. And if something's worth doing at all, it's worth doing as well as possible, so I am going to give this project my very best shot and try to make it as good as it can be. Please note, for this story I have been given a pre-existent set of characters, character back-story sketches and a rough plot to work with. After much convincing, Abel has agreed to bring Mia for a formal visit to his home in Remno. He tries to explain to her that his apprehension is due to something much darker than a teenager's embarrassment over his parents. When they finally arrive, even Abel is not prepared for the Remno that his father has prepared for the Princess. Expect to find a bit of Tearmoon sweetness and humor, mixed in with some darker elements (much like the original story). I have attempted to explore the darker elements with a light touch without downplaying the seriousness of the issues being explored (hence, the disturbing content' warning).. Mia, Abel, Anne, the Emperor, and Ludwig are the usual suspects present in this story. A serious effort has been made to stay true to the personalities of the main characters and the general tone of the series but I have given myself free rein to have fun with characters that were undeveloped through the first 9 volumes of the series or create new characters that were needed to make this story work. Through the 9 original volumes,this story had no great conflicts with Tearmoon Empire continuity, but that has begun to change with volume 10 of the official series. I think that this is a very fun story that any Tearmoon fan can enjoy. (Yes, have posted this elsewhere. But I would like to share with as many fans as possible, so I am posting to new places. Also, I love inputespecially lavish praise!)
