You tried to follow Atlas, but Lucian stood between you and the staircase. Although you can only see his eyes, you can tell that he`s worried as well. Behind him, Atlas took each step carefully.
"Maybe there`s another way," you muttered.
Lucian shook his head. "There`s no other way, sadly."
When Atlas disappeared from your view, you kept your ears open for any unusual noises. Minutes passed by, and you didn`t hear anything out of the ordinary other than the low groanings of the shadow people at the top of the hill.This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
You and Lucian sat on a stone. His eyes were straight ahead, staring blankly at the church a few meters away.
"Will you return to normal once everything`s solved?" You asked him.
Lucian looked at you; his glowing eyes were wide, and then he looked away. "I honestly don`t want to think about it. I don`t want to put my hopes up."
Silence enveloped the two of you. After almost an hour, you heard footsteps coming from the staircase.
