... I have C-4 (Alyssa)
It feels like a year since I was walking the ocean floor with Elder Isis, and here I am doing it again. Only this time, she is less pensive and more angry.
I honestly expected to be escorted home in chains with a guard, but apparently I`m not considered much of a threat. Elder Isis doesn`t even take precautions like making me walk in front of her, though she does seem to know where I am at all times.
I look up, it is surprisingly calming to see the way the light bounces off the waves. I love watching the wales and schools of fish swim above us. Every once in a while, we even see the bottom of a boat or a floating pile of trash. I really shouldn`t be spending so much time looking up, Elder Isis is having us move at a truly punishing pace. I`ve tripped like fourteen times, and we`ve only been moving for half a day.
We are probably half way there, somewhere in the middle of the Pacific, when it happens. There is something here, I can`t put my finger on it, but it is pulling me. I stop short, and look around.
Elder Isis stops a few seconds later, and then walks back to where I`ve stopped short. I know she is staring at me, but I can`t look at her. There is something here. Like, an itch I can`t quite scratch.
"Where is he? Follow that feeling." Elder Isis says while I pace in a wide circle trying to determine the location.
"What am I feeling?" I ask her. "I feel drawn to something, but I don`t understand." I stop pacing and look up.
"You feel your sire`s call. You are close enough to track Elder Remus. Follow it, where is he."
"Up. He`s up."
"Then we swim up." She pushes off the bottom and starts swimming.A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
It isn`t long before we see the shadow of a large boat. I swim faster, the pull is stronger, we are definitely going in the right direction. I angle to the left side of the boat, and place my palm flat on the hull. Elder Isis isn`t far behind.
"Here," I say, "It`s here."
Elder Isis nods, and closes her eyes, her hand still on the boat. After a time, her eyes pop open and she says "Keep your hand on the boat. You are going to hear someone in your mind. Listen and work with them. I will be back." Then she drops into the depths, leaving me with the boat.
"Is this Alyssa?" I jump. The sound is coming from inside my head. I know she said that would happen, but it is jarring.
"I`m Alyssa."
"Hello Alyssa, I`m Puck. I am communicating with the one you call Damian. We are working on an escape plan."
"Okay. Is there anything I can do to help?"
"There is physical warding around us. We need a way to turn off the electricity, and then break it."
"When you say break& how much force would you need?" I ask while looking through the bag Lou gave me. Elder Isis told me not to let go of the ship, so I lean my back against it.
"It is a 1 cm thick shell of alternating layers of plastic and iron, with salt in the middle."
I nod, knowing he can`t see me. "I have C-4."
There is a pause for a moment, "Let`s keep that as a backup plan. There are four separate wards we need to break, it would be best if we don`t alert the rest of the crew to our escape."
"Okay&" I keep sifting through the backpack, "I have glowsticks, a sword, a gun? There is poison, a blow torch, soldering iron, more explosives, mylar blankets, various kinds of food, a human skull& what kind of adventure was Lou expecting?"
There is a pause. I assume Puck is relaying things to Damian. Then "You have Lou`s bag?"
"She gave it to me when we seperated."
Another pause. "Are there timers for the explosives?"
I dig through the bag some more, "Yep."
Another pause "Set up four small charges, and set the timers to 5 minutes, but don`t turn them on. Just set them up."
"Okay."
"Someone will come help you set up the charges soon."
Soon& soon could be anywhere from three minutes to three hours. I work quickly to divide the C-4 and set the timers, all the while, wondering who is going to come help me set the charges and when Elder Isis is coming back.
