Chapter 32: Lisa Likes It
Rumours began swirling around about Kensei`s and Silas`s morning workout sessions. It became so apparent that even Mashiro, who hadn`t wanted to exercise with him anymore, decided to join.
The outcome was that she fell asleep before it started. When Kensei banned her from tagging along again, she pouted, stating that they woke up too early anyway.
During one such session, Silas asked Kensei if he could invite Lisa. When asked why, he neglected to answer and stuttered, indicating that he was too shy to ask himself. This immediately led Kensei to believe that Silas had some unexpressed feelings. In truth, this is what Silas needed him to think.
The following evening, Lisa rejected the idea of wanting to exercise with the two.
"It`s not every day I ask," Kensei said. "Do me this favour."
"You asked Mashiro not long ago."
"No I didn`t! She forced herself to come and didn`t even do our warmup!"
Sighing, Lisa finally agreed, knowing that Kensei wouldn`t leave her alone unless she said yes. With that, Silas patiently waited for an opportunity to test her character.
Like every morning, he ran across Karakura Town. Only this time, Lisa was present. Every time he passed her, he peered in her direction with a slight grin. She couldn`t tell what he was thinking, but it made her run faster. His only reason for doing this was to impress her with his prowess.
After their warmup, he congratulated her by admiring her form. It wasn`t often she received praise, so she found the compliment both strange and a tad charming.
As their session continued, Kensei left the two alone. His claims were that he was going to do a private workout. Truly, he was trying to help Silas get closer to Lisa.
"Kensei, you big meanie!" he heard while hiding. Before Mashiro could say anymore, he quickly placed his hand over her mouth and told her to hush. Mashiro wondered why he was being so secretive until her questions were answered when she saw Silas alone with Lisa.
The two had their swords out, and they were lightly sparring. With one strong swipe, she clashed against his scabbard. Silas then said in a calm tone, "I could see why you were Captain Shunsui`s favourite&"
"Ugh! You knew my captain?" she asked in surprise.
Seeing she was off her guard, Silas took the opportunity to grab her wrist and flip her to the ground. A loud thump was heard as her face slightly grimaced. Back on the floor, she opened her eyes, only to see Silas`s hand extend out to her.
"I did," he answered, pulling her up. "He said you had an amazing figure, and I couldn`t agree more."Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
The comment made Lisa blush, exactly what Silas needed. Lisa wasn`t regarded as the prettiest character, having a tsundere-type personality, but she still ranked among the top twenty fairest women. What was more was that Silas knew what attracted her the most.
"Even though you read those adult magazines, I can tell you`re just curious about their curvatures."
The comment caused her to gasp in response: "Finally someone understands!"
"You could easily be in one of them if you wanted to, you know."
As Lisa`s face turned more red, unable to respond, Mashiro burst out from where Kensei and her were hiding. The excitement in the air caused Lisa to flee in embarrassment. Silas let her go, having gotten what he needed.
A few hours later, he would return to the warehouse.
Not a single moment was he given any space from Mashiro`s teasing. The Visoreds wouldn`t stop commenting on how it would be nice to have a romantic couple within their ranks. Silas bore with her jokes, playing on the idea that Lisa might not feel the same way about him. This only made Kensei and Mashiro wish for them to get closer.
At the hideout, Lisa was spotted reading her magazine again. The moment her eyes locked with Silas`s, she darted back to the page. When she peaked his way, he returned her awkward behaviour with a confident smile.
" "
When sunset hit, Hiyori began complaining that there wasn`t any milk or food in the refrigerator. Shinji was supposed to go out and buy ingredients, but had completely forgot.
Silas used this as an opportunity, saying, "I`m free. Give me the list; I`ll get what everyone needs, and I`ll cook tonight."
It wasn`t often that members volunteered for chores, so everyone gave him a strange look. Shinji, however, was happy because he thought this would stop Hiyori from yelling at him.
When Silas approached Lisa, he asked her if there was anything she was craving. She managed to compose herself, stating that anything was fine as long as it was cooked well. That`s when Mashiro yelled, "She loves to eat yakitori!"
The commotion only caused Lisa to get upset at her. But when she looked at Silas, there was that cool, poised smile on his face again. This only caused her to blush more since she knew why he had asked. He was planning to cook her favourite meal.
Yakitori was a Japanese dish that consisted of different skewered meats and vegetables cooked on a grill. It was only something Silas came to understand how to make after having spent so much time in this world.
Hachigen, who was in charge of managing the collected funds of all the Visoreds, gave him a hefty amount to spend on food. Even Hiyori had given him a grocery list, despite the fact that most of the stores that sold these products would be closed soon.
Without wishing for anyone to come along with him, he exited the warehouse and left.
Silas became quite selective as to where he was going to get the ingredients, so he took to the skies to travel to the right areas. Instead of going to a convenience store to buy chicken, he went to a farmer`s market outside the town for live fowl. The butcher beheaded three chickens and dressed them accordingly.
Afterwards, he went to the open market near the countryside to buy the vegetables. Everything, ranging from onions and lettuces to chives and herbs, was confirmed to be organically grown. The only thing he didn`t plan on making himself was the sweet sauce. As such, he purchased it from a local market that claimed to make it from scratch.
When he arrived back at the warehouse, everyone was shocked to see what he had returned with. Not only were these the finest ingredients, none of the members were going to expect that he knew how to cook a delicious entr閑.
Even Rose, who rarely cared for anything except his music, was interested in how the food was going to taste. In a pleasant tone, he questioned, "What made you go this far, Ichigo?"
"It`s because Lisa likes it."
